The Bonito Innovation Lab is a dedicated research and engineering space where every product, material, and design detail is rigorously tested before it enters a customer's home. From stress tests and load capacity checks to hardware cycling and prototype builds, the lab ensures that nothing reaches execution unless it has been validated, approved, and proven to perform in real conditions.

By testing and validating every material, fitting, and mechanism before installation, the lab eliminates guesswork from the design process. Issues that would typically surface on-site, such as material failures, hardware malfunctions, and fitment problems, are caught and resolved in the lab, where fixes cost a fraction of on-site corrections. The result is a home where every detail has been engineered to last.

The lab evaluates a wide range of materials, including laminates, surface finishes, hardware components, hinges, channels, handles, storage systems, and joinery methods. Each material is tested under real conditions, including humidity, heat, load, and abrasion, to ensure it performs reliably in Indian homes over the long term.

Bonito follows a structured process of prototyping, lab testing, and QC sign off before any design concept moves to execution. Full-scale physical prototypes are built using actual production materials, evaluated for ergonomics, structural integrity, and finish compatibility, and iterated until they are field ready ensuring every solution is proven before it reaches a client's home.

This ensures that every interior element in a Bonito home is built to withstand the demands of everyday living over the long term.

Every hinge, handle, channel, and soft close mechanism is cycled thousands of times and tested for load, misalignment, and long-term performance before it is approved. Only fittings that pass every functional test make it into a Bonito home.
